Cibiana di Cadore and the tradition of murals
Cibiana di Cadore is located in the small valley of the Rite stream and particularly surrounded by splendid mountains.
The town is best known for the murals painted on the walls of houses by Italian and foreign painters.
Furthermore, with their art, they tell the life stories of the country, and instill joy and curiosity in observers.
Not to mention the wonderful “Museum in the Clouds” on Mount Rite, born from the idea of the well-known climber Reinhold Messner.

In Cibiana di Cadore
Scenic walks are popular.
They tell of the old mines of Vallinferna, Ronzei and Ciarsies, the importance of iron in these areas.
A walk in Cibiana di Cadore is the high route n. 3 of the Dolomites. It ranges from Monte Rite to Sassolungo, to Tovanelle, through Copada towards Bosco Negro and Forcella Bella, up to the Ciampestrin refuge.
In Cibiana di Cadore there is also the “SCI CLUB Cibiana”, with which you can practice cross-country skiing on a 7.5 km circular route.

You can visit an adventure park, play on the two summer tennis courts which act as an ice rink in the winter and play football on the respective pitches.
Local craftsmanship is very prolific and you can buy excellent “SCARPETE” or “ZESTOI” (types of footwear).

Cibiana di Cadore, posta nel verde della sua valle, offre ai visitatori, oltre alle bellezze naturali, una serie di attrazioni artistiche-culturali che fanno della piccola località un grande paese.
In primis l’eccezionale rappresentazione dei MURALES, affreschi a muro, magistralmente dipinti da pittori italiani e stranieri che, con le loro cinquanta e più forme di espressione, raccontano e descrivono la storia del paese.
Attrazione di tutto spicco poi, l’ormai famoso “Museo tra le Nuvole” sul Monte Rite, realizzato da Reinhold Messner, da dove si possono ammirare panorami di incomparabile bellezza.
